One of the directions Techno Fysica distinguishes itself from other engineering companies is consulting. We are able to advise you in many fields of mechanical engineering, but, of course, our specialism is vibration behaviour and the effects of dynamic loading. The area of interest are predicting severity of vibration, life cycle, and reliability. Pitfalls in a design which is subjected to dynamic loads can be recognized in an early phase of engineering, and corrected with least effort and cost. The result: an optimal design with regard to reliability, safety and maintenance. Comfort due to absence of troublesome or even damaging vibration is another important aspect. |

Our consultancy is applicable in many fields of technical engineering, but also in many forms. We can take the role is an external advisor. In that role, can evaluate all engineering aspects of a design with regards to the aspects related to dynamic loading. For example, for the shipping industry, we have a blue print for evaluating a design with regards to vibration measurements of hull and superstructure, vibrations (Lateral, axial and torsional) of the propulsion installation, but also with regards to life-cycle and reliability. Our approach is not that of a constructer. We do not " design" a ship, a plant or a construction. We merely make sure your design does what you expect of it, for as long as you choose to have it. In fact, we can be the tool the constructor needs to optimize his design with regards to areas where his expertise is limited to basic knowledge or, at most, limited experience. | |

Additionally, we can look at the design specifications, and add our
expertise with regards to possible problem areas regarding the dynamic
aspects of a design. Usually, this means extending the amount of testing to
be performed during trials, or scrutinizing material specifications.
In our
experience, a design specification is usually very limited and more often
than not aimed at getting a project through the warranty period. We look
beyond that, and aim our experience at getting the most out of a concept.
Since this leads to lowering of dynamic loads, the overall effect is a
lowering of the Total Costs of Ownership due to lower wear, and larger
reliability.
Of
course, we can make these specifications fit your needs, or perform the
necessary testing or trial programs ourselves. We will gladly help you in
this area.

Much of
our knowledge is used in the shipping industry, where we have been (and
still are) a standard of our own. However, our experience is well
appreciated in other areas of industry also.
An
example of this is the use of our knowledge in the field of condition
monitoring in Wind
turbine applications. The Danish manufacturer of Wind
turbines, Vestas,
used the expertise of Techno Fysica to start
a, global condition monitoring program.
The
program comprised the selection of hard- and software, determining
important parameters such as measurement intervals and alarm settings, and
training, so eventually the measurement can be performed fully by own
personnel.
What started
as a job for the
off-shore wind
turbines only, it now comprises the total on- and offshore
turbines in the portfolio.
The order
was to
select a system that made it possible to monitor the
dynamic behaviour and machine trending of the drive train (bearings,
gear boxes, generator, and shafting) from a central base.
|
|
|
|
The
system was to be
certified by Germanischer Lloyds, which has been done recently.
Further aspects were the selection of suited software and hardware,
including additional options which were not standard items in available
equipment or programs.
Finally, new standards
are to be developed, since the wind
turbine industry is still a relatively young industry, with its own
features and problems.
Needless
to say that this project required
independent, vast and specialized experience in the field of
condition monitoring, which is exactly why Techno Fysica was selected.
